Cartoon Literacy: Cartoons are for all ages

I have always wanted to have a website dedicated to remove the stigma from adults who still watch cartoons. Cartoons aren’t created, marketed, and drawn by cartoons but adults as well who create intelligent and beautiful series that can connect with people regardless of age. Thus, I created Cartoon Literacy. As developer of the blog, I am the head of the web development, social media, and blog postings.

The site features shows like "Steven Universe" and others that promote in-depth discussions. For example, "Steven Universe" is one of Cartoon Network’s newest shows, and has already been producing groundbreaking content with having the first LGBTQ characters for the network. Each week I tackle ground-breaking episodes from different shows and analyze their content.

Who's your Daddy: Analysis of Greg

Who's your Daddy: Analysis of Greg

Are you a parent? Have you ever thought of what it must be like for Greg Universe to be a parent to Steven? Not only does Greg have to deal with the loss of the woman he loved and fathered Steven with, but he also must deal with disconnectedness from his son who is both a human and a gem.

Rose Quartz redefines the ideal

Rose Quartz redefines the ideal

Rose Quartz was a beautiful woman. “You’re everything I want,” Greg said to Rose, giving up his music career to be with her. Rose was a valiant fighter, respected by her enemies, and cherished by her friends. Although Steven has inherited his gemstone from her, he is not Rose Quartz. He is his own person, just as she was. Even if she left a tough legacy to follow for Steven, he has begun showing that he too is powerful in his own ways.

Garnet is a Fusion

Garnet is a Fusion

Imagine being a teenager rushing to home after a long day at high school. Switching on the television, the teen finds many bright and colorful shows, but they all have the same, typical characters. Instead of the typical white, heterosexual character, now one can turn on the TV and find Garnet, the stunning female, LGBT leader in the show "Steven Universe."
